London Drama Trip
Lucy Roberts from Year 13 recounts half term's Drama trip to London
From excitedly sitting and waiting patiently in a packed theatre for what you know is going to be an incredible performance, to releasing your inner child walking round on the magical Harry Potter Studio tour, the London 2017 Drama Trip was incredible, start to finish. I’ve never felt more British than when I was sat aboard the top deck of a Thames cruise boat in the bitterly cold wind and rain, sailing past London’s finest sights.
Having been two years since I first watched it, I was so excited in the build up to ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time’ and I can honestly say it did not let me down. It is a must-see performance. ‘Matilda’ was equally as astonishing the second night, even though I did have doubts about it being a musical, but I was soon proven wrong.
I genuinely did not know what to expect on the final day; the day where we would be let loose in the spellbindingly enchanted world of Harry Potter. What an experience. You don’t realise how much work and how many hours were put into the eight films, or how delicate and intricate some of the thousands of props used are until you’re standing in front of them. It was that exciting and inspiring that the first thing I said when I got home was ‘Where’s our Philosopher’s Stone film?’
Thank you to Miss Carter, Miss Leith and Mr Banister for organising what will be an unforgettable three days.
