New - TA2 Nurture
We are looking for a talented Teaching Assistant to join our Learning Support and Inclusion Team for the next academic year (September 2019 start).
The successful candidate needs to be able to: demonstrate consistently excellent, inclusive practice for children with a wide range of Special Educational Needs; a clear understanding the Principles of Nurture: and the social and emotional aspects of learning.
The role will include:
· Working with children across the school with a focus on emotional wellbeing and readiness to learn.
· Running inclusion and nurture sessions in small groups or as 1:1 in a planned response to needs and also to needs arising.
· Working with students to improve their self-esteem
You need to be able to:
Ø Work flexibly and confidently with children with a wide range of social, emotional, and mental health needs as well as those with wide ranging SEND.
Ø Demonstrate a passion for learning and inclusion
Ø Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to engage and motivate children with complex needs
Ø Be solution focussed and emotionally resilient in highly emotive and unpredictable situations
Ø Demonstrate an understanding of child development
Ø Be committed to our nurturing ethos in order to grow confident and happy learners
Ø Work as part of a team of professionals.
Ø The successful TA will be experienced in working with children with a wide range of SEMH needs. They will work in both of our Inclusion and Learning Support Team, under the direction of the SEN Assistant and Director of Learning Support and Inclusive Practice. They will support the implementation of exciting, innovative strategies and interventions that will engage pupils and have a significant impact on progress. They will help ensure provision closely matches the needs of each individual.
This post is one year, fixed term contract in the first instance, subject to review.
The post is part time:-
• 4 days per week to be agreed with the candidate
• Term time only plus teacher training days (39 weeks)
The salary will be paid on Band F, Scale Points 7-10 currently £19,554.00 - £21,166.00 per annum pro rata
