We are seeking to appoint a Careers Adviser and Guidance Officer from September 2021. The successful applicant will be responsible for the delivery of independent and impartial Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance to Aylesford students. They will help organise and deliver Aylesford’s Careers and Enterprise programme, work related learning and eventually the Careers Mark Award. They will work under the direction and support of the school’s Careers Lead and the Senior Leader i/c of Careers.
Specific duties and responsibilities
- To work with FE establishments, training providers, universities, and other organisations to access up-to-date and relevant information in order to provide impartial information, advice and guidance to students that is appropriate to their needs.
- To maintain appropriate records and to provide relevant accurate and up to date information on pupil and student intervention and intentions.
- To record, collect and forward student information and destination statistics to fulfil the Department of Education September Guarantee statistics.
- Building and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support the careers programme at Aylesford.
- To work as a team to provide a high quality programme to deliver careers education, information and guidance, where appropriate in partnership with external agencies.
- Running the day to day delivery of CEIAG in the school by following the agreed delivery plan.
- To assist with the preparation of career education and instructional materials, for use by teachers and students; assist students in locating and using college/career information as needed for research, assignments and Post 16 school planning.
- To remain up to date with developments in the education system and labour market, keeping students, teachers and parents up to date.
- To assist in organising, implementing and monitoring Work Experience placements for students, as appropriate.
The successful candidate will have an appropriate and relevant qualification in Careers Advice, Level 6 or equivalent. They will have a passion for maximising careers opportunities and display excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work and network effectively with others.

Monday to Thursday 08.00am – 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch
37 hours a week for 39 weeks a year to include term time and 5 days in the school holidays to coincide with GCSE and A Level exam results.
The Post will be paid on Salary Grade H (Points 14-17) paid at £20,971.62 per annum
