Secondary School - ICT Teacher
Secondary School ICT
Teacher - New Vacancy
Start Date: January 2022
Hours: Full Time
Pay Scale: TMS/UPS
Aylesford School Warwick is a forward thinking and exciting educational environment. In September 2021 we became Warwickshire’s first all-through school offering education for primary, secondary and sixth form students. We pride ourselves on our commitment to our students and our community.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Teacher of ICT to join a committed, experienced and supportive department in our Secondary School Phase. The department is driven towards excellence with strong leadership and superb team spirit. Aylesford School prides itself in providing a supportive professional environment where high performing practitioners have ample opportunity to develop and grow.
We welcome applications from both ECTs and experienced teachers.
The Business, I.T. and Economics Department
The B.I.T.E Department consists of a group of three specialist teachers in three disciplines working together under the leadership of the Head of Department and Business teacher. Having the three subjects under the umbrella of one department means we have a supportive team atmosphere with colleagues working closely together to develop the curriculum, standardise assessments and improve the outcomes and aspirations of our students. In the department we have the use of 3 fully equipped computer rooms as well as another standard room and an office that acts as a hub for the team.
Currently we have Year 10 and Year 11 classes doing the BTEC Tech Award in Digital Information Technology, however we are hoping to phase that out and offer the Pearson Edexcel iGCSE in Information and Communication Technology as a new course in 2022. We are also looking to update our KS3 ICT curriculum to be even more relevant and engaging with new and emerging technologies included, as well as linking into the iGCSE. Whilst the focus of our curriculum is on ICT as opposed to Computer Science, a newly developed KS3 curriculum could potentially include some time for coding activities too.
The development of the ICT curriculum both at KS3 and KS4 will be of key importance in the coming months and the successful applicant will work closely with the Head of Department to achieve this.
