My name is Ali Tapper-Gray, of I.C.A (Independent Careers Advice Service) Limited with more than 25 years' experience of working in the Careers Guidance sector helping young people achieve success.
I am based at Aylesford School and Sixth Form College on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. The school enables and supports the following career services for your son/daughter:
All students are introduced to Careers support available.
All students have access to JED Explorer Database, an on-line Careers website which has searches, quizzes, pictures and text to help research hundreds of jobs. This can be accesses through the school website.
All students have access to the Kudos on-line questionnaire that enables them to match their skills and interests to potential Careers. Each student has a further opportunity to use Kudos again to link GCSE choices to Careers. There is also an offer of a personal interview to support their research into GCSE choices and future Career pathways.
All students have the offer of individual support with:
- Searching for jobs/apprenticeships
- CV writing
- Completing application forms
- Improving interviews techniques
All year 10 students are offered an early Careers interview.
In year 11 all students have a further Careers interview to discuss Post 16 options and future career pathways about:
Each student receives a written action plan as a result of the interview.
All Yr 12/13 are offered the opportunity of an individual face to face Careers interview to discuss:
- University courses,
- UCAS applications
- Future careers.
- Alternative options to university courses
