Welcome to Eagle Class!
Spring is on the way - let new adventures begin!
This term, our geography-based topic is linked to the text 'If the World Were a Village' by David J Smith. Through our learning this term, pupils will gain a better understanding of the world’s people and their ways of life. We will learn about physical and human geography of the Americas and make comparisons with our own experiences. Our class novel is 'The Explorer' by Katherine Rundell, which is set in the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil, so ties in with our geography topic. We will use this in our literacy lessons to inspire our writing through a range of text types.
Our learning in maths will include multiplication and division, fractions, decimals and percentages. Children will practise new concepts and develop their understanding through applying skills to problem solving and reasoning tasks.
In science, pupils will initially learn about Forces, which will include gravity, air resistance, water resistance and friction. During the second half of the term, the unit of work will be Properties and Changes of Materials. This will encompass dissolving, separating and reversible changes.
Mrs Perrier and Miss Hill will support our learning in Eagle Class.
Timetables and resources will be uploaded here each week during the school closure.
