Our key text for summer term is ‘Where the Wild Things are’. We will be sequencing and re-writing our own stories as well as writing character descriptions for some of the interesting beasts we encounter in the story. In addition, we will be looking at "Dear Fairy Godmother" by Micheal Rosen to develop their comprehension and grammar skills |
Reading

Reading is very important for children to enhance their reading skills. They are: exposed to new vocabulary that they can apply in their learning, as well as their speech and language; able to develop and apply their inference skills; and discuss and explain different types of books.
Once you have listened to your child read, please sign their Reading Record.
Once children have read three or more times a week. Reading books and records need to be in school every day.

The children will have Maths homework each week set in their Maths Practise Journals.
We then ask if children can spend 10 minutes a week on NumBots building their mathematical fluency.
Homework should be completed to the same high standards that we expect of work done during school time and it should be handed in on time. Your child should be spending about 30 minutes on each piece of work. Homework is due in every Wednesday and will be handed out on a Friday.

Spelling Shed homework will be set online.
