A reminder that we’re holding a Secondary Phase pre-loved uniform sale tomorrow, 10am-12pm, in the Primary School Hall! See you there! 👔 https://t.co/AoZwAzNdej
Pupils have now arrived at their second camp - Camp Maras.
This time they are in tents at a high altitude (over 3,700m), great for getting them prepped for their hike.
The views from this camp are stunning and there is even the option of hot ‘showers’, albeit from a bucket. pic.twitter.com/76mImDv1O9
Delighted that our Lionesses made it into the finals! We will be cheering on our ex-pupil, Jess Carter and the rest of the England Women’s Team on Sunday! 🏴 ⚽️ pic.twitter.com/A6J7DpXpou
Miss Wilcock’s trip run club (which started on the year 8 Cornwall trip) has continued onto the Peru trip with Sam, Connor and Kian joining her for a 6am run this morning. The team are currently at an altitude of over 2,800 so it was a nice slow 3k. pic.twitter.com/yFA87AZHtC
However, we would also like to apologise to parents for the haircuts that took place yesterday when Sam and Phoenix got hold of some clippers. Even the teachers could not escape their impromptu hair salon... 💈💇 pic.twitter.com/2B1l1pnE32
Another Camp Sacred Valley update - we are getting lots of praise on our project work and managed another warm up hike yesterday.
We also had a visit from the locals who showed us some traditional dancing and handmade souvenirs. pic.twitter.com/ll3RJIae8p
Miss Wilcock's favourite night was the pupils' sing along night where we all almost lost our voices!
On Saturday, pupils took the morning off to hike the waterfall. Camp leader, Fernando, also treated them to a trip to the shop and cafe to reward them for all their hard work. pic.twitter.com/bQ1FdqDBIN
Camp Sacred Valley is going great with lots of fun both on and off project. We have had a talk from camp staff, Edson, on the history of the Inca. There has been numerous football matches including both pupils and staff. pic.twitter.com/l9S3iRVtTc
That’s a wrap on another academic year! The summer newsletter includes some lovely comments from the Work Experience employers who hosted yr 10 pupils, lots of trips and visits, some exciting opportunities for next academic year and some creative crayons! https://t.co/whilooqVYn pic.twitter.com/niaUtAY6LR
Today we are out near a waterfall helping build the community a check point to allow them to earn some money from those visiting the waterfall.
The pupils have done a fab job getting stuck in and enjoying project life. pic.twitter.com/9fxZuf3tyW
Project work is well under way here in Peru.
Yesterday we arrived in our first camp in the Sacred Valley. After settling in, we went out to the strawberry fields to help clean them up of weeds and dead leaves etc. pic.twitter.com/LTe55H5i0J
We would like to thank him for all his hard work over his many years with us and wish him a very happy and enjoyable retirement. ☺️🎉🥳 pic.twitter.com/PMAYMhI9f1
He has had many roles over his time with us: Teacher of PE, Head of PE, Head of Year and Teaching Assistant and gave his all to each and every one. We know many parents have fond memories of having been taught by Mr Scholes and he is often described as a true Aylesford legend. pic.twitter.com/pvK0TAQ7ts
After 51 years of service to the school, Mr Scholes retires today. His knowledge, expertise, kindness and incredible ability to leap into a classroom and perform a headstand at the drop of a hat will be sorely missed by students and staff alike. pic.twitter.com/Koph88daVM
Some souvenir shopping has already been completed and we include a stunning shot of the mountains that Ollie captured as they flew over! 🗻 pic.twitter.com/TzKPp16bDc
Our Camps International students are safely in their hostel in Cusco. Due to weather, they were diverted to Fort Myers airport for a section of the journey. We were allowed to go into the cockpit which was particularly exciting for Ollie, who has ambitions to become a pilot. 🧑✈️ pic.twitter.com/uXNUYedC2B
